Reliance Jio has updated its yearly plan for prepaid users. The plan that was previously priced at ₹2,020, has now been increased to ₹2,121. However, the benefits of the plan remain the same. With the increment of ₹101, the total cost per month (28 days according to Reliance Jio) will increase by ₹8.4.
The yearly plan offers a total of 504 GB of data for a total of 336 days. The user will get access to 1.5GB data per day. The subscriber will also get unlimited Jio to Jio calling and an FUP of 12000 minutes for Jio to Non-Jio phones. The SMSs will be limited to 100 per day and the data package will also offer complimentary subscription to all Jio Apps.
The other plans with a similar data usage include ₹555 for 84 days with a total of 126GB and an FUP of 3000 minutes for calling Non-Jio connections. The rest of the benefits remain the same.
Another pack with similar benefits but with a calling FUP of 2000 minutes to non-Jio numbers costs ₹399 for 56 days. The cheapest plan which offers 1.5GB per day costs ₹199 for 28 days and offers 1000 minutes calling to non-Jio numbers.
Last week, Reliance Jio managed to grab the crown for highest 4G data download speeds in the country for the month of January. Vodafone on the other hand managed to bag the first position for 4G upload speed. The data was released by telecom regulator, TRAI. Bharti Airtel was left far behind with Jio scoring an average speed almost three times faster.
According to the data published by TRAI, Bharti Airtel network had average 4G download speed of 7.9 mbps, Vodafone 7.6 mbps and Idea 6.5 mbps. In stark contrast, Reliance Jio managed an average download speed of 20.9mbps.
