Sony is hoping big on Red Dead Redemption 2, and the release date is set on October 26. Sony having a marketing tie-up with Rockstar Games for the game, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is it’s going to be one of 2018’s biggest sellers.
The company announced the Red Dead Redemption 2 PlayStation 4 bundles, launching alongside the game, and the options include that players can experience Rockstar’s much awaited game with HDR quality graphics on PS4, along with the 4K with the supercharged PS4 Pro
The Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro bundles will arrive with either either PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro in black and a copy of the game. Coming to price, the 1TB PS4 Pro variant comes with price tag of $400 (around Rs. 28,000) while the PS4 Slim options include 1TB and 500GB. The PS4 Slim bundle with 500 GB variant seems to be limited to the UK.
Sony claims that the Red Dead Redemption 2 outputs 2160p while it requires a 4K HDR TV. We are yet to see if it this is native 4K or using techniques like checkerboard rendering for delivering similar effect. The game will utilize PS4 Pro’s built-in supersampling feature.
Speaking about game’s PlayStation 4 Pro enhancements, the PlayStation Blog revealed, “On PS4 Pro, 4K HDR TV owners will benefit from enhanced graphics and optimized performance for a stunningly sharp and detailed look (when compared to a PS4 system), as you live, ride and fight to survive as an outlaw in a notorious gang. HD TV owners will benefit from increased image clarity through the PS4 Pro’s Supersampling Mode (you can turn on Supersampling Mode in the PS4 Pro system settings menu). Meanwhile, if your TV supports high-dynamic range (HDR), you’ll experience the picturesque scenery of Red Dead Redemption 2 with an even more vibrant and dynamic range of colors (HDR features also available on PS4 system).”
