The latest instalment will account for a 4% hike in the DA rate of central government employees. After the hike will be 42%, up by 4% from 38% of basic pay or pension earlier. The move will cost Rs 12,815 crore to the government exchequer
and will benefit over 1 crore employees of the central government.
“The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, today has given its approval to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance to Central Governments employees and Dearness Relief to Pensioners with effect from 01.01.2023.
